Tent rentals and their many shapes and sizes

Parties come in many shapes and sizes; whether you are celebrating a wedding, a birthday, family reunion, or just feel like partying with friends. Given that the summer months are when many people take their vacations and enjoy the nice weather, many of these parties take place outside. Nature, not being in tune to human wants and needs, sometimes has other, more sinister plans for these outdoor parties. These plans also have a tendency to be unpredictable; as much as weather channels predict chances of rain, it is not an exact science and thus it is better to be prepared. With this is mind; searching for a company that deals in tent rentals is one of the most foundational and important steps in planning a successful outdoor party.

Without a tent, any of the other aspects of a party, including food and beverage stations, decorations, and the guests themselves, could easily be ruined by unpredictable weather. This would be an immense waste of time, money and effort. However, before rushing into tent rentals, it is helpful to first understand the many varieties of tents, and which is most suited to your party needs.

Tent rentals come in many styles: Canopy, Frame, Marquee, and Pole. Canopy tents are generally made from a lighter fabric and are sources of shade from the sun, and can only withstand light rain. This type of tent often does not have side walls, and is not suitable if you are expecting high winds. What this style of tent is generally used for is food preparation, a covering for a buffet table, or a source of shade for a small group.

The next type of tent available for rental is a frame tent, which is also lightweight and usually quite small. True to their name, they consist of a vinyl-coated canvas stretched over a metal frame, with no central pole to obstruct any activity. Since this type of tent comes with a built in frame, staking the outside of the tent is unnecessary and this makes it an ideal tent for areas like decks, patios and driveways where staking is impossible.

Marquee tents are made of either vinyl coated canvas or reinforced vinyl that is stretched over a metal frame, which is divided into sections. This type of tent does require staking on the outside so is best for grassy areas, and can be made as long as needed, so it is ideal for covered walkways.

The last type of tent is a pole tent, which is a fairly common and traditional tent for tent rentals. It consists of perimeter and center support poles, and is ideal for group seating. This tent also requires outside staking, meaning it is also best for a grassy area.

Although the variety of tents available for tent rentals may seem daunting, it is only a matter of identifying your party needs and contacting a tent rentals company. Most companies will be more than happy to assist you in your party tent decision.
